I had the most incredible experience working with MacKenzie as my hair and makeup artist for my wedding. As a person who does not wear lot of makeup on a daily basis, I was excited to find MacKenzie who specializes in making brides feel like their natural self. And that's exactly what she did! She totally captured my vision of looking natural yet elevated and I was so impressed how well my makeup and hair lasted all day! Not to mention she is just the most lovely human ever and made me along with my friends and family feel so comfortable and calm all morning of the wedding day. I feel like we became fast friends throughout the process and I just cannot recommend her services enough!!

I could not even imagine loving my wedding makeup more than I did. MacKenzie isn’t just about doing your makeup up. She’s about making you feel radiant from the moment she walks in the door. She’s professional and home, all in one. She puts her entire heart into her work — and it shows. Through the *many* tears shed that day, my makeup was the same from the moment she finished through the moment we left our reception. I can’t say enough amazing things about MacKenzie and working with the gals at Helm Salon!! I was nervous about being pressed for time the morning of the wedding and MacKenzie was so accommodating and helped me plan out how many stylists we needed to have a smooth and easy morning. She was so kind and helpful, answering tons of questions from me throughout both the booking process and then leading up to the wedding when I was having multiple random skin issues pop up. 

And OMG the makeup and hair!! There is a reason she was nominated for KC Wedding Vendor Choice awards Makeup Artist AND Hair Stylist this year! I wish she could do my makeup every day! I was dealing with some rosacea and just general skin sensitivity by the time I had my trial with MacKenzie. She was so attentive to all my concerns and made sure to use only products that were okay for sensitive skin. My makeup just felt so light and natural, and I really felt like I looked like myself with my favorite features emphasized. It was such comfortable makeup to wear and it didn’t crease or smudge, even after a very emotional wedding day!  

My bridesmaids and the moms loved how their hair and makeup turned out as well and MacKenzie and the rest of the stylists were such a chill group to hang out with during my wedding morning! Working with a smaller salon like Helm felt really personal and nice. MacKenzie especially is incredible and I can’t recommend her enough to others!

I cannot say enough good things about MacKenzie! I went into my trial with no experience getting my hair or makeup done by a professional, and I was not really sure what I wanted to do. MacKenzie was immensely helpful and patient, she taught me so much and we tried multiple options until I found something I loved! My experience on my actual wedding day could not have gone any better, everything looked great and held up extremely well! Not to mention how kind and wonderful MacKenzie is, I’m so happy she was a part of our wedding and highly recommend her!

When I started searching for a HMU artist for my wedding, I wanted someone that emphasized natural beauty in their work—all the glowy, fresh, and radiant feels. I came across MacKenzie + my search was over immediately. I loved the romantic, ethereal looks that she created. She was so open to hearing my vision and executed it beautifully. She handled the chaos of the day with grace—making do with poor lighting at our getting-ready venue, smoke alarms going off, hardly any table space, etc. MacKenzie’s keen eye and attention to the teeeeniest of details made me feel so comforted, knowing that I would look [and feel] exactly the way that I wanted to on my wedding day.
